PHIT America Launches Free Campaign To Help Keep Americans Active
PHIT America, the non-profit that funds physical activity programs to help Americans get more physically fit and healthy, has launched a free campaign called “How to Cope with Coronavirus.” Available at Coping.PHITAmerica.org, this online toolkit offers 10 Tips for physical activities which American families can enjoy both at home and outdoors and is available for anyone to use.
The goal is to inspire the sports and fitness industry to support the millions of Americans who are currently social distancing to improve their physical, mental and emotional state during the COVID-19 crisis. In a recent study of 160,000 sport and fitness participants, activity levels were down 39 percent, as recently reported by CNBC. PHIT America is encouraging companies, foundations, individuals, professional athletes, and more to utilize these tips by posting one example every other day on social media using the hashtags: #PHITTips #PHITFamily #CopingwithCOVID.
“The sports and fitness industry can do a great service for Americans by reinforcing all the great benefits of physical activity and how everyone can still be active now,” says Jim Baugh, founder of PHIT America. “I hope everybody either uses our free resources or starts their own campaign. We have the greatest medicine in the world. Let’s promote it!”
